FREEDOM DAY SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Our under -14 soccer boys deserve congratulations after ending up in second place at the recent Community Family Day Soccer Tournament held on the 27 April 2022 at the Solo Park Sports Facility. Shafwaan Morgan, a grade 7 learner at our school received an individual certificate for being the top goal scorer on the day. Delta Primary has a long history to producing soccer players of exceptional skill. As part of the School Improvement plan as mentioned in our recent newsletters is to ensure that our boys and girls are given the opportunity to engage in extra curricular activities to give our learners a holistic experience at our school. Well done boys !

 PREFECTS 2022

It is with pleasure that we announce the appointment of 21 prefects for the 2022 academic year. The prefect body was established to build leadership capacity amongst our senior learners and also serves as an accolade for learners who have shown leadership capacity in their tenure at Delta Primary.

 DELTA FOOD GARDEN

Ps Jack and his able helper, a parent of our school Mr. Adams, have started clearing the grounds of the school garden with the intention of planting the following vegetables in the coming weeks: cabbage, carrots, onions, parsley, broccoli, cauliflower and peas. It is our intention to see a sustainable garden flourish over the next few weeks and to inspire learners to consider agricultural studies when they attend  high school. We must therefore prepare our learners to own land and have the knowledge to work the land in a sustainable manner in order to grow food for our people.

 DELTA SCHOOL CHOIR

Mr. Edward Du Plessis, a grandparent attached to our school, has willingly offered his time on a Thursday to commence coaching our school choir. Assisted by Mrs. Fischer the learners are receiving introductory music lessons in learning the scales `abcdefg` as well as learning the national anthem, the do re mi song and edelweiss. From my observation the learners are thoroughly enjoying themselves.
