LATE ARRIVAL AND ABSENTEEISM OF LEARNERS
Some of our learners are arriving late at school on a regular basis. The continuous late arrival of some learners is of huge concern to all staff members, as valuable time is lost and the flow of lessons disrupted with learners arriving at various times during the morning session. With the staggered attendance, learners can ill afford the added barrier to learning of arriving late at school.
We have also observed a pattern of absenteeism in many grades. Learners are not receiving their full quota of days at school and this in itself creates huge gaps in their core knowledge. Learners who regularly absent themselves from school place enormous pressure on themselves and their teachers as they attempt to regain lost teaching time and acquiring new knowledge. In this regard, we appeal to all or parents to ensure that our children are at school every day as the antithesis could also lead to sub standard academic achievement.
DEVELOPING MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Below is a picture of our grade 2 learners engaged in counting activities using bottle tops. These and many activities completed during the day will develop our children into active and independent learners. It remains our collective goal to empower all our learners.
LIBRARY ARTS AND CRAFTS
The pictures below depict the arts and crafts skills of our school librarian. Who uses recycled materials in a sustainable manner to create an item of beauty.
