CANCER AWARENESS
On Thursday the 19 October, the staff of Delta Primary School paused for a few moments as they observed Cancer awareness. The impact of Cancer has to some degree touched each and everyone’s family at some point over the past years. As a staff we wish to encourage all adults to do regular check ups in this regard.
SPRINGBOK DAY
Over the past few weeks the performance of our national rugby team has once again inspired South Africa. Every match played during the Rugby World Cup 2023 has been of exceptional quality. Learners at Delta Primary observed Springbok day on Friday the 20 October 2023. We keep our fingers crossed for a successful rugby campaign as the Springboks play England in the semi finals.

VIOLENCE IN THE COMMUNITY
The continued violence in the community has been a singular narrative for the past few weeks and it has also negatively impacted our daily operations at school. In this regard I wish to recommend the following course of action in the event of gang violence. Should the gang violence erupt while learners are on their way to school, we recommend parents exercise their discretion and ensure learner safety first. I wish to assure our parents that we are attempting to manage the associated challenges with regards to assessment and gang violence. Be assured that no child will be disadvantaged with respect to the access to assessment due to the continued gang violence.
Continue to pray, so that peace returns to the community.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use – Earl Nightingale
