ACHIEVEMENTS AND REFLECTION TERM 1
It is an observation that the full return of all learners has definitely changed the dynamics at school. Many of our learners are struggling with the adaptation of a full 5-day return to school programme, this is evident in the high rate of absenteeism across the grades. For staff members both professionally and personally the full return was a daily challenge and we are sure it will take some time before learners and teachers fully acclimate to the reality of full return. We are grateful that amidst this context we were able to do the work of educating our learners Notwithstanding our current context many of our learners have behaved and excelled academically. In particular, we note a level of maturity and calmness amongst our grade 7 learners which we are generally pleased with. The majority of the learners have conducted themselves extremely well amidst the reality that some of our learners needed a hard talk to ensure that they understand that discipline is the foundation from which all other wonderful things are able to emanate, namely: good grades, a wonderful daily experience at school, a sense of achievement etc. In this regard let’s keep on encouraging and holding our learners accountable for their behaviour and their actions in spite of the challenges.
