GRADE 7 MARKET DAY
We extend our heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming support shown during the Grade 7 Market Day on Friday, 29 August 2025. Our learners once again proved that teamwork truly makes the dream work! Parents, your encouragement and contributions played a vital role in making the day such a resounding success. From tasty treats to creative crafts, our Grade 7s displayed both entrepreneurial spirit and collaboration.
FUNNY HAT DAY
Spring Day on 1 September was welcomed with colour, laughter, and creativity as staff members took part in Funny Hat Day. The wide variety of hats on display brought smiles all around and reminded us of the joy in celebrating the simple moments together.

STAFF WELLNESS
On Wednesday, 3 September, our staff gathered for a special wellness session coordinated by the Wellness Committee. Teams prepared delicious potjiekos dishes, each one unique and flavourful. The afternoon was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of well-being—proof that wellness comes not only from food, but from community.

GRADE 3 READING ASSESSMENT
This term, we have begun assessing the reading levels of our Grade 3 learners. On average, our learners are able to read 150 words per minute, which reflects the impact of consistent practice and teacher modelling.
We know that children thrive when reading is part of their daily routine. As a school, we encourage parents to dedicate at least 10 minutes a day to shared reading—whether through bedtime stories, reading aloud together, or quiet reading time.
Our goal is for every learner to read confidently at grade level. After all, our guiding belief remains true: “Readers are Leaders.”
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
“If you are going to get anywhere in life, you have to read a lot of books.”
– Roald Dahl (author of Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, and Fantastic Mr Fox)
Thank you, parents and learners, for your continued support in making Delta Primary a place of growth, joy, and learning.
